Yessss. Fresh and unique flavors, plus a very welcoming staff and crowd of locals. Definitely a place to drop into while wandering BCN. Really good prices. Cash only but a few ATMs in the area if you’re short.

One of our favourite dinners in 4 weeks of travelling across multiple cities! The pintxos are the perfect size for trying multiple delicacies and each is full of incredible flavour. We loved everything we had but the Chorizo in cider and smoked salmon were favourites. Super well priced, intimate setting and very friendly/funny hosts. Only thing to note is it’s cash only, but there are ATMs close by so no problem at all. Thank you Gasterea for a 10/10 meal!

Stumbled upon this local tapas bar in Barcelona and it quickly became one of the highlights of our trip. We ended up going two nights in a row — and would absolutely do it again. The two bartenders — who seem to be a couple — are the heart of the place. He’s got a dry, hilarious sense of humor that sets the tone, and together they make everyone feel like a regular. That said, if you’re easily offended or don’t appreciate a bit of cheeky banter, this might not be your spot. But for those who enjoy a fun, unfiltered vibe — you’ll love it here. As for the food — wow. We had the tortilla with meat (not sure what it was, but it was delicious), the artichoke tempura (I would fly across the world again just for these), the fried eggplant, and the meat with chimichurri. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Great food, unforgettable personalities, and a place that feels alive.

Such a treasure of a place in a fun neighborhood. Yummy Basque pinxos, each made by the owner with care. He doesn’t accept credit cards, but trust me, it’s worth finding a cash machine!

The best taperia I visited in Barcelona and definitely one of the very best I have been to in Spain. Amazing people, amazing service and amazing food. Everything was delicious. Only thing that slightly frustrated me was it being cash only (there is a machine nearby). I will definitely return here and it is one of my highlights in Barcelona.

Our favorite night in Barcelona was spent at Gasterea. So many choices of pinchos, each one more delicious than the next. Sat at the bar for hours drinking, eating, laughing with the warm and welcoming staff, and feeling like a local. A must, especially for the price! Couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was for such excellent quality and service.

Best food we ate in Barcelona. Everything was delicious and came quickly. Everything is under 10 euros so you can explore lots of different dishes. Drinks were good and cheap. The owner is so kind and funny and accommodating!!! Definitely come here if you’re visiting Park Guell, it’s a short walk away. Bring cash!!
